Kim is one of the founding partners of the predecessor company to MKJ Advisors, LLC. In his 35+ year career, Mr. Krieg has successfully executed over a billion dollars in real estate transactions with every major retail developer on every significant retail street and retail district in the United States. He has served as President and CEO of a major publicly traded restaurant and retail company and is active in private equity and real estate investing. His background includes new concept development, the planning and execution of store roll-outs, market analysis, site selection, lease negotiation, and financial management. Kim is a graduate of Principia College in Alton, IL.
Tom, a founding partner of MKJ Advisors (formerly Restaurant Brokerage, Inc.), specializes in developing and implementing growth strategies for national and regional restaurant chains. Mr. McCarty managed early expansion strategies for The Capital Grille and Rock Bottom Restaurants, taking both concepts to over 35 units. Today Tom acts as the master broker nationally for numerous restaurant chains, including Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Del Frisco’s Grille, Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, Willie’s Grill & Icehouse, and Sullivan’s Steakhouse. Over the last 30 years Tom completed restaurant transactions in every major market in the United States. Prior to founding MKJ Advisors, Tom owned and operated multiple restaurants. Mr. McCarty received a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Colorado.
Scott got started in the retail consulting industry in 1998 working on the leasing effort of the highly successful Kierland Commons. That project introduced Scott to several national tenants that became clients. One of the founding members of MKJ Advisors, Scott managed the roll out of several national brands, including Lucky Brand and Brighton Collectibles. Currently Scott represents local, regional, and national tenants with a focus on Phoenix, Southern California, Las Vegas, and Florida. Scott’s national tenants include Mephisto, Nori, Sauce Pizza & Wine, Obon Sushi Bar, Nectar Bath Treats, Karma and Luck, Live Bait, Daytona Racing Experience, Shawarma Corner, Fired Pie, and J. Stephens Shoes. Scott is a graduate of the University of New Mexico.
John has been in the restaurant business, in various capacities, for over 40 years. Prior to joining MKJ Advisors he was the Director of Real Estate at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, and the Chief Development Officer at Pei Wei Asian Diner. His expertise relates specifically to the site selection, design, development and construction of new restaurant properties. John currently represents True Food Kitchen, CUCINA Enoteca, and Rock & Brews. He is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
Corinne started her career with Macerich working in the marketing department at Redmond Town Center outside of Seattle, Washington. After two years with Macerich she joined the MKJ Advisors team in 2007. Her primary responsibilities include Lilly Pulitzer and assisting with Tommy Bahama, 6th and Kipling, and Peoria Crossing Projects. Corinne is a graduate of Principia College in Alton, IL.
Ryan McCarty, Esq.
Ryan started representing restaurants in 2006 with the Denver ChopHouse & Brewery and Rock Bottom Brewery. Ryan left the industry to obtain a law degree and later returned to MKJ Advisors to focus on restaurant tenant representation. Ryan helps restaurant clients develop their expansion strategy, find strategic growth locations across the United States, and negotiate restaurant leases. Additionally Ryan works with clients to improve their predictive site models, create site presentations for board approval, and provide in-depth analysis of Texas restaurant alcohol sales. Ryan’s current clients include Bricktown Brewery and Willie’s Grill & Icehouse. Ryan is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, DC and the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in Austin, TX.
